This was another overall weak performance by the Broadway Company.  This was my first time seeing Craig Schulman as Valjean.  He had a great voice with a lot of range.  But I think his voice is a little too heavy- opera sounding.  It could have been a little more theatrical.  He acted his part very well but he tended to add a fake proper accent when he sang.  This made Valjean sound too upper class and less like a common man.  And my all time favorite Javert Chuck Wagner was still very good but not quite as impressive as I had seen before.  Lawrence Anderson was strong as Enjolras.  He had a very good voice.  Sarah E. Litzinger as the Eponine understudy hit all of her notes very well.  But she had a heavy-sounding belty voice instead of a more youthful one.  She also could have stylized her singing more.  Michael Sutherland Lynch as Marius was fair.  He too came across as very upper class, adding a very fake sounding proper accent to his singing.  It was hard for me to believe this characterization of Marius.
